What is a Children’s Centre?

Children’s Centres in North Somerset are a key aspect of the North Somerset council plan for Children and Young Peoples services (CYPS) and the delivery of the ‘Every Child Matters – change for children’ agenda.

Children’s Centre provide locally based and accessible services to improve the outcomes of children aged 0-5 years and provide support for parents in giving their children the best start in life. The aims of Clevedon Children’s Centre are to welcome all families with young children, providing services, support and advice to children and their families. Mums, dads, grandparents, childminders and other important family members are all welcome. The multi agency staff team work in partnership with others to provide the support your children need as they grow up.

We offer a range of activities, some of which are shown below. We also have leaflets available for download. We also provide:

• Support, advice and funding for children, parents, carers and community groups

• Holiday activities

• Trips and events

• Adult learning / training opportunities

• High quality crèches

Activities through Clevedon Children’s Centre at The Barn:

Please check availability as some activities are term time only and some are by invitation or referral only.

Monday

• Childminders group 9:30-11:30

Tuesday

• Peep for 2 year olds 1:30-2:30pm  - (see leaflet download below)

Wednesday

• Twins Club 11:00 – 1:00pm

• Play & Stay toddler group 1:30– 3:00 pm

Thursday

• Baby PEEP  - (see leaflet download below)

Friday

• 4Mums & Mums2B 12:00-2:00

Wednesday

• ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) 12:30 – 2pm
